Honest
The Danish perfume brand ærlig (‘honest’) is inspired by the Scandinavian simplicity and offers pure, sustainable luxury. The brand originated from the mission of founder Lis Hansen to make honest perfumes: without allergens and with sustainability in mind. As a laboratory and environmental technician and product developer, Lis worked for many years on cosmetic products. She learned about the 26 allergens which are found in cosmetics and perfumes. However, finding the perfect fragrance without the allergens can be very difficult. Therefore Lis decided to developed her very own perfumes in 2018.

Perfume without allergens
In 2020, Lis introduced her first four ærlig perfumes without any of the 26 most common substances that the EU Cosmetics Directive believes can cause allergies. The perfumes are composed with different notes, so there is always a scent that suits you. The perfumes are available in two sizes: 100ml and a travel size of 15ml.

Transparent and sustainable
ærlig cares about sustainability and the environment. That is why all packaging is produced locally in Denmark without the use of glue. The cardboard and paper are FSC® Certified, the labels are made from sugar cane and the composition of the perfumes is as sustainable as possible. The result: 90% of the ingredients are organically grown and the majority of the production process takes place in Denmark.
