The Morning After

The Morning After (The Night Before)
It's time for parties! We are looking forward to a cozy Christmas and an exuberant New Year's Eve. But yes... the morning after is often a different story. Hangover, under-eye bags, smeared make-up and messy hair. While you probably still have to visit family or celebrate with friends. Luckily for you, we have the tips & tricks to get you through the day radiantly. A smart girl is always prepared because limiting the party damage starts the night before, before you go to bed.

Preparation is key
Do you always leave your make-up on after a party? You better don’t. Your pores become clogged due to the accumulation of make-up and dirt that has attached to your skin during the evening and night. This messes up your skin's microcirculation. Cleaning your face is easier than you think. Put a facial cleanser on your bedside table and place a washcloth next to it that you can easily wet. You can then clean your face in no time with the Foam Cleanser from SKINHAPTICS. This is a ready-to-use foam that you can simply apply to dry skin, massage in briefly, wipe gently off with a damp cloth and voilà, your skin is clean. Leaving make-up on is also unhealthy for your eyes. Due to the hardening of mascara and eyeliner, eyelashes break easily when you rub against your pillowcase in your sleep and can cause dry eyes as well. For example, clean your eyes with the Cleansing Balm with Kokum Butter & Sea Buckthorn from John Masters Organics and wipe it gently off with a washcloth and warm water. This product also allows you to remove waterproof make-up. Do you want to wake up with a fresh glow? A night mask might be your answer. Examples are the Tired Face Mask from Faace, the Overnight Facial Mask with Pomegranate & Moroccan Rose from John Masters Organics and the HydraCycle Rich Overnight Cream from Suki.

Feeling hungover? We got you covered
You probably just want to stay in bed all day, but you don't want to cancel your holiday gatherings you already had planned with family or friends last minute. Need a quick boost before you hit the bathroom? Spray the Awaken Room Spray from Made by Coopers in your bedroom and you will notice that you will soon feel more energetic. A good way to get your circulation going, is to dry brush your body before you get in the shower. Spread a few drops of oil on a brush, start brushing at your feet and work your way up towards your heart. You can do this, for example, with the Massage Oil from SKINHAPTICS or the Comforting Face & Body Oil from Made by Coopers. Puffy eyes? We have a tip for you: apply a light oil, such as the StartCycle Facial Oil from Suki and use a special rose quartz roller or a Gua Sha stone, such as the Kai Gua Sha Rose Quartz from Nãmaka, to massage away the puffiness under the eyes. Dab off the oil, splash with cold water and apply a hydrating booster such as hyaluronic acid to your face. The HydraCycle Hyaluronic Acid Milk Serum from Suki or the Hyaluronic Facial Serum from Baebody will help you achieve that extra hydration boost.

Everything under control
Don't feel like or have time to wash your hair? That's exactly why dry shampoo was invented. Brush your hair, apply the dry shampoo and let it work for a while. Massage it in with your fingers, possibly run a brush through it and style it. Your hair will look fresh again and feel good, for example with the Refresh Dry Shampoo from Innersense Organic Beauty. Lastly, spray some Happy Room Spray from Made by Coopers around the room to lift your spirit and leave home feeling in a happy state of mind.
